Just an easy one-and-a-half-hour drive from the Melbourne CBD, or a short trip from the Mornington Peninsula via Searoad Ferries.
The reserve adjoins Victoria Park and is within easy walking distance to the Hesse Street shopping precinct, cafes and restaurants.

- Queenscliffe Recreation Reserve, Golightly Park and Victoria Park are pet friendly during the off-peak and shoulder periods, with the exception of Royal Park which does not accept pets at any time.
- The Budget Cabins at Queenscliffe Recreation Reserve is the only pet friendly accommodation.
