A holiday in the Borough of Queenscliffe is like stepping back in time.
There is no better place to uncover the stories of our historic seaside towns than at the Queenscliffe Historical Museum. Located in the heart of town within the modern Queenscliffe Community Hub, this award-winning, accredited museum brings to life over 150 years of maritime, military, and social history.
What you’ll discover:
- Origins & Environment: Explore the deep connection of the Wadawurrung People to these lands and waterways, and how the sensitive Swan Bay eco-system has supported life for millennia.
- The Queen of Watering Places: Relive the 19th-century "golden age" of tourism when grand hotels and steamships made Queenscliff the premier holiday destination for Melburnians.
- Creating Community: Discover the pioneering families, church builders, and local heroes who transformed a remote outpost into a thriving seaside borough.
Plan your visit:
- Open daily from 11 am to 3 pm.
