Whether you are looking for a relaxing afternoon excursion or a fun-filled family day out, the railway provides a charming perspective of our coastal landscape that you simply can't get from the road. The Bellarine Railway offers a variety of unique events and heritage journeys throughout the year:

• Day out with Thomas - 11-12 April & 3-4 October
  • A firm family favourite! Several times a year, the railway is visited by Thomas the Tank Engine and his friends. These events include a ride behind Thomas, meeting the Fat Controller, and plenty of themed activities for the little ones.
• The Blues Train - Various dates year-round
  • A legendary "moving music venue" for the grown-ups. This world-famous experience combines a steam train journey with live blues music, a hearty meal, and a selection of local Bellarine wines and ales.
    Special Event & Themed Days: From the Easter Bunny Special to the Halloween Trick or Treat Train, the railway frequently hosts themed departures that add an extra layer of magic to your holiday stay.
• THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride – December
  • During the festive season, the railway transforms into a world of pure imagination. We are proud to be the home of the official THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, a magical theatrical experience that brings the beloved Christmas story to life right here in Queenscliffe.
  • Important booking information: THE POLAR EXPRESS™ is an incredibly popular event and typically sells out months in advance. If you are planning to stay with us during November or December, we highly recommend booking your train tickets as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
